The Morehead City Marlins (mhcmarlins.com) are one of the most successful teams in the Coastal Plain League which provides collegiate players the opportunity to play competitively in a wood-bat league during the summer months in front of professional scouts, while also providing the local community with an affordable summer entertainment destination everyone can enjoy.
The Marlins play at Big Rock Stadium which is undergoing renovations this off season for the 2025 season.
The Marlins organization has developed an intensive internship program that prepares its participants for a career in sports. Students who intern with the Marlins immediately become part of the game day experience, learning the different aspects of sales, and marketing in a fast-paced environment. We help our interns succeed in their educational and career objectives by preparing for and learning from actual situations our staff encounters at the ballpark which are discussed and experienced daily.
While interns will be involved in all aspect of team and stadium operations, we are seeking a small number of individuals to develop fan relationships, sell tickets, and fill Big Rock Stadium this summer.
Here's what we're looking for in an ideal candidate:
- Ability to start as soon as possible (remote)
- Ability to work approximately 20 hours per week.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Prospecting and calling on prospective ticket buyers.
- Work with Team President on executing sales of group and premium packages.
- Provide top notch customer service.
- Attend weekly sales meetings with the Team President along with scheduled Sales and Marketing meetings with the Team President and Director of Marketing and Promotions.
- Hit trackable sales goals set forth by Team President.
- Ensure all materials that are sent out to prospective clients are pre-approved by the Director of Marketing and Promotions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience / Qualifications Required:
- College level
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple task
- Proficiency in basic software programs (Vivenu, Microsoft Office, Google, etc.)
