Senior Paralegal

Our client, a medical device manufacturer, is looking for a Senior IP Paralegal to join their team in Goleta, CA! This role is hybrid so local candidates are required.

The Senior IP Paralegal will conduct, patent, and trademark legal research under the direction and guidance of a Patent Attorney or Patent Agent. This position is also responsible for drafting and filing various legal documents with the US Patent, Trademark, and WIPO.

Contract Duration: 3 Months

Required Skills & Experience

• Proficient in IP law and procedures, with strong understanding of USPTO, Madrid Protocol, and WIPO rules, deadlines, benefits, and procedural requirements.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail in a fast paced environment.
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), capable of effectively interacting with members of the global legal and IP teams, stakeholders in the business, patent and trademark examiners, vendors, and external agents, and the ability to work collaboratively.
• Proficient in IP management software and databases, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.

What You Will Be Doing

Daily Responsibilities

• Help map the global patent and trademark portfolios to develop an actionable IP strategy and subsequent refreshes and updates.
• Help develop standardized generic descriptors in collaboration with marketing for use in conjunction with company trademarks.
• Help develop trademark and copyright training curriculum for the marketing and commercial teams.
• Demo IP legal tools.
• Support IP related litigations, oppositions, etc.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
