- Minimum of three years of supervisory experience
- Prefer experience in administration or leadership setting and/or experience in a Setting 4 program.
- Ability to understand, interpret and apply applicable sections of the State Education Code and other applicable laws
- Ability to create and explain policies, objectives, rules, and regulations of assigned program and activities

- Ability to coordinate the department's operations and activities; coordinate matters affecting other department with those affected; cooperate with other departments on matters of organization-wide or mutual concern.
- Supervision of Reach Academy, Reach Transition and CLT:
- Oversight of transitioning students to and from general education settings
- Ensure provision of FAPE for grade 8 - age 21 federal setting IV programs
- Positive intervention oversight for students in need of behavioral supports
- Consult and develop curriculum, materials and strategies for individual student needs
- Participate in the development of Assessment Team Summary Reports for individual students, when necessary
- Provide individual case management, when necessary
- Facilitate communication with parent(s) to enable development and delivery of appropriate services, or referral for individual students
- Participate in collaborative problem-solving with team members regarding a student with special needs
- Provide short term, indirect, or consultative services with regular education staff in conjunction with pre-referral of a student for a suspected disability
- Oversee due process and compliance for each of the three sites
- Manage operations of the three sites:
- Coordinate professional development of licensed and non-licensed staff
- Hiring, supervision and evaluation of licensed and non-licensed staff
- Conduct teacher performance reviews and monitor special education due process compliance
- Maintain staff, fiscal and student records as needed for programs
- Write required state reports and applications
- Coordinate facility needs with Student Services Director
- Allocate resources and manage assigned budgets
- Resolve staff concerns
- Communicate District program and State Department information to staff, principals and the community
- Oversee ESY (grades 10 - age 21)
- Participate as part of the district’s Special Education Leadership Team
- Participate as part of the District Behavioral Consultation Team
- Collaboration with district administration at the secondary and transition levels
- Collaborate with outside agencies in supporting student and family needs
- Serve as liaison between county, community agencies and schools
- Serve as 916 District representative
- Other related duties as assigned
