Mountain View Internal Medicine and Pediatrics is a fast-paced, patient-centered medical practice dedicated to providing high-quality services. We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Medical Assistant to join our team. In addition to assisting with clinical care, this role will involve front office support, obtaining authorizations for referrals, and helping with the transition of care and scheduling hospital discharge appointments. Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians and healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and patient information.
- Administer injections and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Prepare exam rooms, clean, and restock medical supplies.
- Obtain and track insurance authorizations for patient referrals to specialists and diagnostic tests.
- Coordinate transitions of care for patients moving from hospital to outpatient settings.
- Schedule and manage appointments for patients, including follow-up care post-hospital discharge.
- Provide excellent customer service at the front desk, greeting patients, checking in and out, collecting payments, and handling patient inquiries.
- Answer phones, schedule patient appointments, and confirm upcoming visits.
Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant certification.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in a medical assistant role, ideally in a busy practice or healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, patient care, and office procedures.
- Experience with obtaining insurance authorizations and working with healthcare referrals.
- Knowledge of hospital discharge processes and scheduling.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic office software.
- Professional demeanor and excellent patient care skills.
