Accountant/Bookkeeper

We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills and be able to work efficiently with a team.

The Accountant’s primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Prepare daily and monthly journal entries for entry into the general ledger system by collecting necessary data, analyzing and/or allocating costs, and preparing audit trail support for the journal entries and preparing monthly financial statements.
• Analysis of general ledger accounts for integrity and accuracy including performing P&L and Balance Sheet variance analysis on a monthly basis.
• Cash analysis and bank reconciliations.
• Preparation of monthly and year end sales and use tax reports and other required reports as needed.
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
• Make certain all financial reporting deadlines are met
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes
• Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
• Assist in streamlining financial and business processes to identify cost savings, efficiencies, and improvements as well as monitoring and communicating the effectiveness of internal controls.
• Assist in the maintenance and application of internal controls.
• Ad hoc analysis and special projects in a timely manner as necessary.

• Working knowledge of MS Office Products (Word and Excel) and Sage 50

Required Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Minimum 2 years of applicable work experience, 3-5 years is preferred
