Job Summary

Nashawtuc Country Club is looking for qualified lifeguards to perform a variety of duties in maintaining pool safety and making NCC a safe and fun place throughout the summer months.

~Calling all sophomores & juniors! This is a great opportunity and provides a flexible summer schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Work as a team to ensure the safety of Members and guests during operating hours and emergency situations.

· Help open and close the pool daily.

· Maintain amenities and cleanliness of changing rooms, bathrooms, showers, and guard house throughout the day.

· Maintains all necessary records for incident reports, chemical checks, and daily attendance accordingly.

· Instill attention to safety among pool Members and guests.

· Attends orientation and training throughout the season.

· Stay attentive and follow lifeguard training with respect to the pool and guests while sitting on chair. Be on time to relieve the guard on duty.

· Enforce safety policies and rules among members and guests.

· Administer First Aid, CPR and other emergency and safety procedures, as required.

· Follow directions given by Pool Director and Head Lifeguard.

· Communicate pool, membership, or staff issues to Pool Director.

· Effectively and professionally handle member inquiries. Direct questions to Pool Director as necessary.

· Greet members and guests by name if possible.

Qualifications

· Possess a current lifeguard certification through one of the following accredited organizations; American Red Cross or YMCA.

· Current certification in American Red Cross First Aid and CPR/AED.

· Possess excellent swimming skills.

· Able to work variable hours across the day, including weekends and holidays.

· Possess a reliable mode of transportation to get to/from the Club.

· Able to work in the outside pool area up to 95% of the time, exposed to sunlight, wet and humid conditions, and heat exceeding 90 degrees.

· Able to spend long periods of time standing.

Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
