- Background in NEPA processes and protocols, project management experience, agreement development, national forests system planning processes, technical writing.
- Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point
Support the development and completion of new and ongoing NEPA projects through projectdevelopment, coordination, writing, and editing as well as developing partnership agreements.
- Support and participation in a fast-moving team that is advancing NEPA on multiple fronts, and across a spectrum of projects, large too small., across Sierra National Forest. This may include interactions with forest and district level resource specialists, and the responsible official in interdisciplinary teams. Tasks may include reviewing, editing, and writing, and active development and maintenance of project records adhering to standards issued by the R5 regional office. Additional tasks will include reviewing recent extant project records and ensuring timely completeness. 50%
- Act as a well-versed complementary addition to forest and district teams that are working to advance post-fire restoration projects (forest and meadows) and fuel-reduction projects, while, specifically, ensuring compliance with components of the 2023 Sierra National Forest Land Management Plan, as well as relevant national legislation and forest policy (ESA, NHPA, old-growth and mature forest policy, and climate change and environmental justice requirements). 30%
- As needed, provide support for development of Sierra National Forests three year and five year strategies focused on post fire and forest resilience treatments in light of multiple funding streams and financing options to include which grant applications to apply for on what footprint; emphasis on funding sources, application calendars, application requirements, and "fit", whether "in-house" (Sierra National Forest) or through partnerships 20%
