Duties

  • You will perform a wide range of activities involved in receiving, issuing, storing, segregating, selecting, handling, prepping, inventorying, and shipping ordnance material.
  • You will perform inspections to determine adequacy of operations and facilities.
  • You will perform receipt and issue inspection of ordnance items and certify items as ready for issue.
  • You will inspect and approve transportation conveyances as suitable for loading, blocking, and bracing.
  • You will advise management on safety of facilities and planned operations, assure adherence to procedures, and review standard operating procedures.
  • You will block, brace, and lash any vehicle, vessel, or other conveyance laden with explosives, hazardous materials, or any ordnance related components to the appropriate military standards, weapons requirements, and/or related specifications.
  • You will determine the detail locations within storage facilities as well as proper stowage of cargo within vessels in accordance with the load plan.
  • You will load and offload ordnance materials from trucks, rail cars, vessels, and other conveyances using forklifts, manual and mechanized pallet jacks, and stackers.
  • You will handle ammunition, explosives, countermeasures, pyrotechnics and all components of such.

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Military Spouse Preference applicants will be placed at the highest grade for which they have applied and are determined Best Qualified (BQ).
