Hours: 18 hours per week during business hours (days/hours set in cooperation with office manager)
Pay: $17/hour, 7 paid holidays, PTO 36 hours
Remote Work: Remote work 50%, In-person work 50% on site in Newberg, OR
Job Duties:
- Represent Newberg Counseling and Wellness via telephone and email
- Communicate with potential clients and arrange initial counseling sessions
- Screen potential clients regarding appropriateness for outpatient counseling
- Match clients with the best clinician for their needs
- Check client insurance benefits
- Operate as a communication liaison between clients and clinicians
- Provides back up for the Office Manager
- Answer the phone business line during business hours
- Greet clients in-person
- Assist with office care and supplies
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Smooth and friendly customer service skills: including ability to provide non-judgmental assistance to clients from a diversity of backgrounds (race, socio-economic status, insurance status, LGBTQ , religious affiliation, etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work as a part of a TEAM
- Ability to convey professionalism, respect and friendliness to all clients
- Ability to work independently and to move from task to task once trained
- Desire to learn and improve systems in a growing counseling practice
- Desire to learn about mental health and private practice
- Compliance with all client privacy and HIPAA requirements (training provided)
- Ability to bring non-judgmental kindness to clients
- Desire to assist Mental Health Providers to do their best work
- Knowledge of Google Workspace: Google Drive, E-mail, Google Sheets, Google Docs
Equipment Needed: Computer with capability for encryption, smart phone, a secure
wireless internet connection. We offer a $250 Technology stipend after onboarding and training are complete.
Background Check: Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Remote Space: A quiet and confidential workspace is needed to make and receive calls. A locked box or cabinet for any paper containing protected health information.
Preferred but not required
Knowledge about psychology and mental health.
Experience working with parents and families.
Experience working with insurance is a plus.
Bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates are encouraged to apply and may be offered higher compensation
