IT Sourcing Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Job Title: IT Sourcing & Vendor Management Consultant
Location: Remote (Central Time Zone Preferred)

We are seeking an experienced IT Sourcing & Vendor Management Consultant to support an enterprise IT organization with critical supplier management responsibilities. This role is ideal for a strategic sourcing professional who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments and brings hands-on experience in contract negotiations, vendor performance oversight, and sourcing strategy.
You'll serve as a key liaison between legal, IT, and business units-leading vendor engagements, overseeing contract lifecycle activities, and ensuring sourcing efforts align with broader business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead sourcing and procurement initiatives for IT hardware, software, SaaS, and professional services.
• Independently redline and negotiate complex agreements (MSAs, SOWs, Order Forms).
• Partner with internal stakeholders across IT, Legal, and Operations to execute sourcing strategies.
• Conduct vendor negotiations focused on cost optimization, service levels, and contractual compliance.
• Drive supplier relationship management, including vendor scorecards, SLA reviews, and performance assessments.
• Support and lead RFP/RFI processes from inception to vendor selection.
• Perform spend analysis and identify opportunities for efficiency and value creation.
• Manage contract renewals, extensions, and new vendor onboarding processes.
• Help improve sourcing processes, reporting standards, and vendor governance frameworks.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of recent experience in IT sourcing, procurement, or vendor management.
• Strong contract redlining experience (SOWs, MSAs, licensing agreements).
• Proven ability to lead vendor negotiations independently.
• Solid understanding of IT categories (hardware, software, SaaS); telecom experience is a bonus.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills-comfortable leading cross-functional conversations.
• Ability to manage multiple vendor relationships and contracts simultaneously.
• Experience collaborating with PMs to align supplier deliverables with project objectives.

Preferred/Bonus Experience:

• Familiarity with telecom contracting (AT&T, Verizon, etc.).
• Experience developing vendor scorecards and managing performance metrics.
• Exposure to IT budgeting, spend analysis, or cost optimization.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, PMP) are a plus but not required.
