What are the responsibilities and job description for the MEDICAL ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR (POOL) position at North Orange County ROP?
This general talent pool is for prospective Medical Assistant Instructors at the high school level. When interviews are completed and a candidate is chosen, that person will have their application kept on file until a position becomes available. When an opportunity arises, they will proceed through the pre-employment process, leading to a potential job offer.
Under the direction of an Instructional Administrator, a Regional Occupational Program (ROP) instructor provides instruction to secondary school students in competency-based, career technical education courses in order to prepare them for college and career. ROP classes are taught by instructors who have trained and worked in the industry they are teaching. Once hired, instructors must enter a teacher credential program and ROP provides additional training and coaching support. Many ROP classes provide real-world experience by placing students in work-based learning. Please refer to the instructor's job description for specific responsibilities, knowledge, skills, abilities, and requirements. • Applicant must provide proof of a current and valid license, certification, or degree as a Medical Assistant.
• Three (3) years of industry work experience directly related to the Patient Care - Medical Assisting pathway (for Credential eligibility).
• High School Diploma or Equivalent is REQUIRED.
• Teaching Credential: The successful candidate must qualify for or possess a California Career Technical Education (CTE) or Designated Subjects Teaching Credential: Health Science & Medical Technology. NOCROP will assist you in starting the credentialing process. * Applicant must provide proof of a current and valid license, certification, or degree as a Medical Assistant.
* Applicant must provide proof of a valid, active, and current American Heart Association for Basic Life Support card; successful candidates must secure an AHA instructor's card in order to train and certify students prior to work-based learning.
* Applicant must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
