Position Title: Lead Upholsterer
POSITION DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include, but are not limited to the following:
- Repair and renovate various types of damaged and or/exhausted hotel and casino furniture upholstery as well as installing new layouts on all table games
- Restyles and relines old or worn out furniture.
- Strips furniture of worn out fabric and padding, cuts patterns of each style of furniture by measuring and fitting, sews all pieces together by hand or sewing machine, reapplies padding, fits new lining to furniture and staples to woodwork
- Strips and installs new layouts on all table games.
- Maintains a constant awareness of safety and accident prevention.
- Ensures all equipment and work areas are kept clean, neat, and orderly at all times.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationship with all departments.
- Works under minimal supervision, completing assigned tasks in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Exposure to casino related environmental factors including but not limited to second hand smoke, excessive noise, and stress related to servicing customers in a high pressure and fast paced environment
- Must be able to stand for an entire shift and be able to move throughout the Casino/Hotel areas
- Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts and/or unusual hours
- Required to lift or move objects up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 5 years’ experience as an Upholsterer.
- At least 5 years’ experience stripping and installing new layouts on all table games and repairing or re-upholstering chairs, sofas, and upholstered wall panels.
- Working knowledge of all phases of upholstery repair and renewal.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English
