What You Will Do
- Construction Project Administration of District-wide Projects (striping, crack sealing, RPMs, culverts, etc.)
- Lead Worker for designated inspection staff
- Construction Erosion Control Lead
- Performs Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) Reviews
- Performs Quality Assurance Reviews
- SWPPPTrack Staff Specialist
- Obtain Environmental Training (CPESC, CESSWI, or similar)
- Environmental Commitment Monitoring of Active Construction Projects
- Prepare and review internal and external Environmental Reports (Ecological Surveys, Endangered Species Surveys, Regulated Materials Reports, Cultural Resources Reports, Farmland Reports, Section 4(f) and 6(f) Reports, Floodplains, etc.)
- Perform Field Reviews and Field work for projects requiring Environmental Studies
- Make Environmental Resources Maps Using ODOT’s GIS Mapping Program (ArcGIS)
- Prepare Environmental Documents (Categorical Exclusions)
- Perform Environmental Compliance Monitoring
- Review construction Plans for compliance with Environmental Commitments
- Prepare/Review Waterway Permits (Section 404/401 of the Clean Water Act)
- Attend Trainings and Meetings as a Subject Matter Expert in Environmental Resources
- Work with outside agencies to coordinate potential impacts regarding their specific areas of concern
- Work with internal and external customers to coordinate project environmental issues

Note: For all positions engaged in field work, applicants must be able to provide own transportation. New employees in EPA's solid waste program, excluding those in the solid waste planning unit, must obtain a sanitarian-in-training certificate during their probationary period.
