Scope: The Employment Coordinator is responsible for collaborating with the Kentucky Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) case managers and other referral agencies to support individuals in obtaining and maintaining successful, long-term employment in competitive, integrated settings. This role involves coordinating and facilitating work readiness, job placement, job retention, and supported employment services, with a focus on job development and placement.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:
Education and Experience:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling or a closely related field.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or barriers to employment (Preferred).
- A minimum of 6 months of experience in a rehabilitation setting, or completion of a rehabilitation internship (Preferred).
- One year of supervisory experience in business and industry (Preferred).
- Valid Kentucky Driver’s License with a good driving record.
Skills and Knowledge:

- Proficiency with computers, software programs, internet navigation, and virtual communication tools.

Major Essential Duties:
- Program Presentation: Present Employment & Training Program information to interested parties.
- Networking: Network with employers and referral sources to build strong relationships.
- Referral Agency Collaboration: Develop strong relationships with referral agencies and case managers.
- Participant Orientation: Conduct job seeker orientations, intake interviews, assessments, and program orientations.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with team members to identify participants’ interests, strengths, working conditions, supports, and accommodations needed.
- Plan Development: Assist participants in developing and implementing a plan for success.
- Vocational Coaching: Provide vocational coaching to promote productive work attitudes and skills.
- Issue Management: Assist participants in managing issues that may affect job success.
- Job Readiness: Assist participants with job readiness and workplace essential skills (e.g., job search, completing applications, resumes, cover letters, interviewing, soft skills).
- Employer Representation: Represent job seekers to employers.
- Needs Assessment: Conduct needs assessments and job task analyses with employers.
- Employment Opportunities: Partner with employers to identify and develop employment opportunities, negotiate job tasks, and conditions for support.
- Transitional Employment: Assist participants in transitional employment and work adjustment programs.
- Resource Connection: Connect participants to needed community and personal resources.
- On-Site Support: Provide on-site job support and coaching for consumers.
- Follow-Up Services: Provide continuing follow-up services while consumers are in job retention status.
- Case Management: Maintain case files and computerized case management database.
- Documentation: Complete all documentation and reports in a timely manner, per company and referral source policies.
- Standards and Best Practices: Follow standards of operations (SOPs) and implement best practices to ensure high-quality, effective, and efficient programs.
- Satisfaction Assurance: Ensure maximum participant, employer, and referral source satisfaction.
- Certifications and Development: Maintain CPR and First Aid Certifications and participate in professional development activities as needed for best practices.
- Additional Duties: Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
