What are the responsibilities and job description for the DSS Human Services Coordinator II position at Orange County Government?
Work is performed under the general direction of the Human Services Supervisor with leeway to exercise independent judgment within the framework of applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in the performance of duties, both in terms of planning and accomplishing work, and in making decisions regarding customer needs and requests and conducting project assignments. Supervision over others may be required of this position. Position does related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in human services field such as social work, counseling, or psychology or closely related field AND one (1) year of work experience in social work or counseling and/or work experience in the techniques of casework, group work, or community organization. Must have one (1) year of work experience in leading teams and/or coordinating the work of others; OR
An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined above. A higher degree does not substitute for work experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of North Carolina for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
All offers of employment are conditioned upon successful clearance of a background check and pre-employment drug testing. Employment cannot commence until the employee has been cleared.
Requires flexibility and adaptability to be re-assigned to assist with other DSS-related functions as determined by the Social Services Director or their designee.
In the event of an emergency, as determined by the County Manager, the DSS Director, or designee, participation in preparedness and response operations, as well as critical agency needs, should be expected. Employees may be required to fill a temporary assignment in a role different from standard duties, work hours, and/or work location.
