Otek Corporation, based in Tucson, Arizona, is seeking a qualified electronics assembler. Otek is a well-established company known for its high quality specialization in the custom design, manufacture and sales of digital process control and measurement equipment. Otek was established in 1974 and has a world-wide customer base for our digital panel meters, bar graphs and controllers in the nuclear, military, and industrial markets, Class 1E, MIL-SPEC and EPRI Compliant.
Competitive salary commensurate with experience will be offered. Position will be M-F, 8-4:30 PM, Salary is DOE. Company benefits include health insurance, vacation, sick pay, bonuses, etc.
MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG TEST. CRIMINAL RECORDS WILL BE CONSIDERED ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS.
Job Requirements:
-A minimum of 2 years work experience assembling and soldering electronics components such as resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits and wires onto printed circuit boards. Components are mixed technology, some could be through hole and others be surface mount.
-IPC certification is a plus, expired certification is acceptable. A BONUS MAY BE OFFERED IF IPC CERTIFICATION IS CURRENT AND VALID OR RECENTLY EXPIRED.
-Must have the ability to read work sheets and wiring diagrams, follow written procedures and have good communication skills.
-Must have the ability to start and stop projects without direct supervision.
Principal Duties:
-Assemble PCB with SMT and THJ componentry including capacitors, resistors, micro-processors, LEDs, wires, plugs, and power supplies to PCB following the PLD schematic. Part sizes vary from thru hole to 0603 including surface mount QFP.
-Installing and securing protective insulators such as shrink tubing or Teflon tubing onto wires / assemblies.
-Installing and securing protective films such as Kapton tape or conformal coating onto board assemblies.
-Performs any combination of following duties in assembly of electronic components onto printed circuit boards according to specifications, using handtools
-Read worksheets and wiring diagrams, receives verbal instructions, or follows sample board to determine assembly duties, and selects components, such as transistors, resistors, relays, capacitors, and integrated circuits.
