The Board of Trustees of the Panama-Buena Vista Union School District invites qualified administrator candidates to apply for the position of Instructional Services Director II, Extended Learning. The Board is seeking a Director will provide leadership and support to staff within the Extended Learning Department. Leadership will include the coordination and support of all Extended Learning programs, including summer learning opportunities and the development and implementation of the professional learning plan.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides leadership and vision in the ongoing planning, implementation, development, direction, review, and evaluation of the district’s Extended Learning program.
- Administers a variety of professional learning opportunities to support staff in instructional design strategies to support student learning and integrates the regular school day with after school programs..
- Develops procedures and milestones for implementing the professional learning plan for Extended Learning staff.
- Analyzes data and prepares reports of findings, trends, and inferences.
- Evaluates and provides support, coaching, and training for extended learning staff
- Provides assistance and leadership in planning the integration of project-based lessons, enrichment and interventions to support students in the after school programs.
- Coordinates instruction to encourage integration from the regular day to after school.
- Provides leadership and direction in the effective implementation, organization, administration and evaluation of new and emerging strategies to increase student achievement within the after school programs.
- Supports and resolves concerns, inquiries, and complaints.
- Assists in the recruitment and interviewing of Extended Learning staff.
- Organizes, directs, supervises and evaluates assigned staff.
- Participates in a wide variety of planning and development activities, including district-wide committees.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Valid California Teaching Credential. Valid Administrative Services Credential. Master’s degree from an Accredited university with major coursework in Education or related field. At least five years of successful classroom teaching experience, preferably at more than one grade level. Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience, which can include leadership opportunities at both the District and site level. Administrative experience of at least 3 years as a school site principal is preferred.
