Wellness Program Manager

Job Summary

The Wellness Program Manager is responsible for implementing and overseeing wellness programs in the before and after school setting aimed at addressing the wellness needs of the students and community. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders and fostering a supportive environment that encourages healthy lifestyle choices for youth and their families while equipping AmeriCorps members with the tools and skills to advance their skills and knowledge for their future jobs. The ideal candidate will have a background in wellness, mentoring, and/or working with youth.

Job Responsibilities:

• Administer organizational programs aimed at addressing the wellness needs of the school and surrounding community
• Implement and provide wellness resources to Community Learning Center (CLC) site coordinators related to nutrition education, physical fitness and horticulture practices in accordance with National Healthy Eating and Physical Activity (HEPA) Standards
• Oversee day to day management, implementation of activities, and performance monitoring of current grant requirements.
• Supervise a team of 15-20 AmeriCorps members and volunteers teaching nutrition, gardening and physical fitness curriculums in the CLC setting
• Coordinate before/after school wellness club scheduling with 12 host CLC sites
• Collect and maintain data on current wellness initiatives within wellness clubs
• Plan and promote healthy community events within CLC designated sites
• Plan and promote AmeriCorps week
• Recruit new AmeriCorps members to represent the geographic or demographic communities being served in the program to encompass different backgrounds, talents, and capabilities
• Coordinate and attend meetings between CLC sites and community partner organizations
• Maintain and build partnerships with various community organizations related to health and wellness
• Work with accounting staff to provide financial controls for the operation of current grants

Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

· Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, in Knowledge and proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook. Microsoft 365 (preferred).

· Skill in verbal, written, and electronic communication.

· Skill in organization, time management, and prioritization of work.

· Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

· Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

· Clean background check required.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week). Benefits include a flexible work schedule and health insurance for 30 hours per week.
