What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Event Coordinator/Manager position at Party Factory Events?
Party Factory provides equipment rentals and services to live events like Weddings, Concerts, Street Events, and more.
I am looking for Management help, I built this company and have a really great small team(3-9 staff), great customers and need someone who understands the industry and managing people.
My ideal candidate is looking for a long term opportunity, who has good previous event production experience either in AV, Entertaining, and/or great experience in managing multiple people and clients at the same time. I am happy to grow with you and this field of work is never dull, it is a roller coaster and you have to really want to do it.
There is one side of the coin, knowing events, how to manage staff and customers and then there is a second side of everything else. One day we may be doing wood work and need to be able to use hand tools and power tools, the next day we may be working on social media and making videos or fixing the computer network. We also have a Haunted House, and Santa Land seasonal events. It is not about being proficient in all trades, it is more about being familiar enough to be able to troubleshoot, and know when to ask for help or when we should do it ourselves.
We work nights and weekends, lift heavy things, operate forklifts and drive big box trucks. Some events are 5 hours away and some are in 100deg heat or pouring rain. For me it is the adventure. We always work as a team and do our best to make the work go smooth and there is where getting a good manager in place is critical to help keep an eye out for the team and help us work together.
I am starting this at $25/hr it is full time. It would start as more of an assistant position to gauge ability and train for 3-5 months. I hope whoever we hire will bring to the table ideas and abilities that I may not think of or know.
