PEMEX Deer Park is a highly complex refinery located 18 miles east of Houston in Deer Park, TX, and is a part of the PEMEX group which is a fully integrated oil company in the Americas, working across the entire value chain: exploration, production, industrial processing/refining, logistics and marketing. HR Administration:
- Manage department’s KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) – collecting relevant data and produce reporting on a regular basis
- Manage internal transfers and promotions
- Maintain HR Project Plan and calendar
- Maintain HR department Operations Manual, including tracking of policy and procedure updates
- Maintains organization Job Description Library
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on various organizational projects.
- Assist with internal employee communications and events
- May participate in or lead special projects or committees as assigned
- Will receive training and provide back up support in payroll processing system and procedures
- In partnership with Recruiting, support the candidate offer process, pre-employment screening and onboarding with hiring managers, IT, and training.
- Conduct new employee orientations and ensure a smooth onboarding process.
- Ensure off-boarding process is followed with managers and exiting employee
- Focus on employee morale and engagement, continuously working with the HR manager to identify opportunities to create an engaged workforce
- Coordinates and participates in various employee events, such as recognition, safety days, benefit fairs, etc.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations issues
- Track metrics on employee relation issues, follow up check-ins and recommended training
- Assist in the development and implementation of performance appraisal systems
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees regarding performance evaluations and improvement plans.
- Support supervisors and employees with goal setting, ensuring records are updated in the HRIS
- Partner with Learning & Development to ensure employees are receiving support and development opportunities
- Create and present business partner training and education opportunities on HR related topics
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Administer the organization’s AAP (Affirmative Action Plan), working with external consultant and onsite staff
- Complete required annual reporting requirements
Compensation:
- Assist in the development and administration of compensation programs.
- Periodically conduct salary surveys and market trends on compensation and benefits

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5 years of HR experience, preferably in a Generalist role.
- Oil and Gas industry experience required, refinery experience a plus
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish desired but not required
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.
- Demonstrate a positive approach to successfully build relationships with people throughout the organization
