Phelps County Bank is seeking a Technical Loan Assistant at its Springfield, MO location. As a Technical Loan Assistant, this position plays a vital role in maintaining and servicing existing loans, ensuring they remain in good standing, and that they comply with all regulatory requirements.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Customer Service: Greet and direct customers, answer phone calls.
- System Knowledge: Understand the bank’s computer system, especially the loan module.
- File Maintenance: Perform file maintenance, troubleshoot, and solve account issues.
- Reporting: Prepare and balance various reports to maintain loan portfolio integrity.
- Loan Boarding: Upload different types of loans, manage collateral holds.
- Payment Methods: Create loan payment methods like coupon books, auto-debit, etc.
- Escrow Procedures: Follow procedures for escrow analysis and distributions.
- Insurance Tracking: Handle insurance tracking and reporting, including audits.
- Pending Items: Track pending items like Deeds of Trusts, liens, and final title work.
- Loan Operations: Process paid outs, serviced loans, 1099's, and Notice of Actions.
- Loan Officer Support: Assist with fund advances, extension agreements, and customer payments.
- Compliance: Apply compliance regulations and bank loan policies.
- Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality of customer information and follow policies.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Two to three years related banking experience and/or training.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skills:
- Must be a self-starter who can complete tasks with little-to-no supervision. Must demonstrate a team-first attitude and voluntarily answer phone calls, respond to emails, and complete variable tasks.
- Reading and interpreting various documents and policies, writing reports, and communicating effectively and appropriately with colleagues and customers.
- Strong fundamental mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- Problem solving and troubleshooting practical problems.
- Ability to learn new tools, software, and equipment at a fast pace.
