The Pittsburgh Presbytery, the regional governing body for the Presbyterian Church (USA), is seeking an administrative assistant to join a dedicated staff team. The individual will play a crucial role in providing support to the Presbytery's 120 congregations and nearly 20,000 members.
The Administrative Assistant is a member of the support team of Pittsburgh Presbytery whose role is to support the mission and ministry of the Presbytery. This person will be primarily responsible for maintaining the Presbytery's financial records and supporting the work of the Business Administrator.
Position Title: Financial Administrative Assistant
Classification: Part-Time / Non-Exempt (20 hrs/week)
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills, a high degree of self-motivation, and a strong work ethic are required, as well as the ability to work with a wide range of people.
- A high degree of maturity and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Work independently, multi-task, pay attention to details, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently and accurately.
- A working knowledge of financial practices and accounting standards.
- This position requires a high school diploma or higher and a high degree of computer proficiency, including the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Familiarity with church management software systems and knowledge of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) polity, structure, and systems is preferred.
Work Schedule:
- Tuesday – Thursday: 8:30 am – 3:00 pm (In-Office)
- Remaining hours to be determined with the Business Administrator, including both in-office and remote work.
- Occasional late afternoon and evening responsibilities. Work schedules may be adjusted to include evenings and weekends as required.

Compensation and Benefits:
- Starting pay: $20 per hour ($20800 annually)
- EPO Medical Coverage, with an option to purchase for spouse/dependents
