Note: Must have Vital Statistics experience and State/Federal client experience would be plus.
Job Summary:
We are seeking experienced Business Analysts to support a large-scale public sector project. The Business Analyst III will be responsible for defining business solution recommendations, gathering and documenting business requirements, and serving as the liaison between business users and the technical team. This position requires strong analytical skills, business process knowledge, and experience working with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Define business solutions and translate business objectives into detailed functional requirements.
- Create documentation such as use cases, data mappings, functional specifications, and process flows.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, developers, and project teams to support software development lifecycle activities.
- Conduct data analysis, define reporting KPIs and metrics, and support report development using tools such as Tableau or Cognos.
- Develop test plans, test cases, and support system and user acceptance testing.
- Support project planning, risk assessment, and estimation activities.
- Ensure compliance with laws, policies, and procedures relevant to vital statistics and reporting.
- Assist in user training, knowledge transfer, and end-user support.
- May be required to manage or lead smaller projects or initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 8 years of experience in business analysis in a software development or IT project environment.
- Strong knowledge of business analysis methodologies and practices.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio).
- Experience in interpreting complex regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop creative, actionable solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Experience in creating work plans, estimates, and monitoring project progress.
- Ability to document and analyze data and processes with tools such as swim lanes, activity diagrams, and use cases.
- Experience with test tools like JIRA or HP ALM is a plus.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to work effectively in fast-paced environments.
Additional Information:
- This is an onsite position in Austin, TX.
- Up to 640 hours total during the contract period.
- May require occasional work outside regular business hours.
