Who You Are
You have freight forwarding pricing and quoting experience in both ocean and air freight and understand the complexity of international logistics. You thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and are ready to leverage your skills to deliver competitive, accurate quotes for commercial and government/defense clients.
You must have prior experience in a similar freight forwarding role to be considered.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Proven experience in International Freight Forwarding Pricing/Quoting (Air and Ocean).
- Experience quoting for Commercial and Government/Defense freight.
- Strong understanding of multiple transportation/logistics modes and services.
- Ability to negotiate rates directly with air and ocean carriers, vendors, and agents.
- Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in CargoWise is preferred.
What You Will Do
You will play a key role in managing and delivering competitive freight quotes while working closely with sales, operations, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and competitive quotes for Commercial and Government/Defense clients.
- Manage quotes within customer deadlines, ensuring precision and attention to detail.
- Utilize CargoWise for quoting, incorporating market intelligence, shipment details, and tariff analysis.
- Negotiate rates with vendors, carriers, and agents for Air Freight and Ocean Freight services, including spot and promotional rates.
- Respond to customer and vendor inquiries via phone and email, maintaining professional communication.
- Build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and carriers through consistent collaboration.
- Monitor and manage quoting activities, including Hawaiian Government Freight Management (GFM) systems.
- Assist with sales proposals, quoting reports, and market evaluations for sales and management teams.
- Support operations by converting quotes to shipments and ensuring timely tracking details when needed.
