What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector I position at Prolec-GE Waukesha, Inc?
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for performing daily inspections of Prolec GE Waukesha Components products and incoming vendor supplied raw materials and purchased parts, input of daily inspection data including CAR's, QCO's, NCR's, ECR's, population of Quality department databases for historical tracking and other duties as assigned.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily inspection of Components products both finished and in process to drawing specifications, and receiving inspection of vendor supplied products
Interface with other departments within Waukesha and external customers or suppliers to resolve quality related issues.
Perform quality testing on various Components produced components on an as needed basis.
Data entry of inspection results into Components Quality department inspection logs.
Support development, implementation, and maintenance of IS0 9000 program
Interpretation of ISO Quality standards and how they affect Components products.
Instilling pride of workmanship and continuous improvement in Components product quality when rejecting in process or finished products for re-work to production floor.
Keeping updated on current ISO Quality standards and requirements.
Determine origin of non-conforming material.
Determining acceptance / reject of products and materials being inspected
Support generation and maintenance of all quality records - Quality Procedures and Practices, and Quality Department databases
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Basic knowledge of ISO 9000 standards
Familiar with basic measuring tools (i.e., calipers, scale, etc.).
Familiar with blueprint drawing reading.
Proven basic math skills
Basic computer skills such as data entry, familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows.
Must learn, understand, and follow all Company Quality processes
Must learn and develop skills in inspection / verification of Components products, assist with internal audits.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required Education / Experience
1-2 years of mechanical inspection in a manufacturing. environment.
High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Education / Experience
Basic knowledge of Geometric Tolerancing.
Familiar with ANSI, IEEE, ASME, Materials Engineering, and ISO 9000 standards.
2-5 years of mechanical inspection in a manufacturing. Environment
