Application Support Specialist

Job Title: Applications Support

Location: Columbus, OH. 43240. (Open for Relocation candidates)

Duration: 6 Month of Project (Extension or Conversion based on business need)

Pay Rate: $40/hr. - $50/hr. on W2 (based on experience)

Job Description:

• Proficient in application development skills for more than one technology
• Working proficiency in development toolset to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software
• Working proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages

Key Responsibilities:

• Login to jump box, rlogin to host, execute scripts/jobs, assess output and next steps.
• Use admin counsels to bounce platform components without negatively impacting other platform components.
• Use admin counsels to divert traffic during application deployments.
• Navigate legacy and cloud platforms in support of application deployments, validations, and rollback activities.
• Make decisions in support of technical operations environments.
• Assess and act on system alerts that require technical intervention and escalation as needed.
• Demonstrate technical aptitude and maturity when things don’t go as planned in an operational environment.

Working knowledge of:

• Linux, Windows, Unix
• J2EE platforms
• JBoss, Apache, Kafka, Tomcat
• Clear and concise verbal and written communication
