Join the Indiana Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (ADDL) Purdue University'S College of Veterinary Medicine as a Safety and Quality/Project Associate and play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality! in our Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (ADDL)! In this dynamic position, you will oversee and ensure compliance with Purdue EHS, OSHA, BSL-2/3, and AAVLD safety requirements. You'll provide guidance on facility renovations and process/test modifications to promote safety standards, and partner with ADDL leadership to instill a culture of safety and quality throughout the organization. Additionally, you'll assist the Quality Manager in maintaining AAVLD quality accreditation and support various ADDL projects. Collaborate with laboratory administration, faculty, and staff to continually develop, implement, and improve safety and quality initiatives. The ADDL is a full-service veterinary diagnostic laboratory that serves the state of Indiana by providing both routine and regulatory diagnostic services to support Indiana veterinarians, animal health officials, livestock producers and animal owners.

What We Are Looking For:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene or equivalent
- Experience in a safety position
Skills Needed:
- Demonstrated commitment to safety
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving, analytical and attention to detail skills
- Excellent verbal, written, listening, organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to interpret and apply requirements set forth in regulatory standards (OSHA, AAVLD…etc.)
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be able to effectively communicate with all members of the ADDL administration, IT, and laboratory personnel
- Must be able to lead and engage small groups
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office, LIMS and QMS programs)
