Business Segment Controller
SUMMARY:
Reporting to the VP Finance, the Business Segment Controller will be responsible for leading the finance function of a business segment at Qorvo. This individual will provide mission-critical financial insights to the business leaders and will be responsible for supporting business segment results (profit and loss, meeting the annual plan and driving growth). The scope of this position includes: leadership of a team including business unit finance staff, monthly financial planning and analysis and support for accounting close activities, establishing an annual operating plan, analyzing operating activities, variance reporting, scenario and ad hoc modelling and supporting the business leadership.
The successful candidate will have a broad, global perspective of business operations, with substantial experience working in complex international organizations, and will maintain the following responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide functional leadership, oversight and accountability over the business segment finance function on a global basis, both strategic and tactical
- Direct and support the activities of finance department staff responsible for accounting close, monthly forecast, annual planning cycle, process improvement, and risk and controls environment
- Proactively manage and develop the BU controller team, creating a positive environment whereby staff are challenged, motivated, and groomed for advancement
- Collaborate with a broad range of internal stakeholders, including executive management, financial reporting, accounting, treasury, legal and business unit personnel
- Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior management including the compilation of monthly P&L variance reports and detailed explanations
- Monitor and maintain financial controls to ensure adherence to company guidelines
- Drive achievement of budgeted goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective actions
- Assist in Ad-hoc projects and reports assigned by leadership
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- CPA, CFA, and/or MBA strongly preferred
- Eight or more years of experience leading a BU controlling or FP&A function within a complex global company. Ideally, the successful candidate has already overseen a finance team or has led one of the major finance responsibilities within a public company
- Extensive experience from within a large, multi-national manufacturing organization is critical. Asia experience is highly preferred. Preference for candidates with semiconductor experience
- Effective communications skills, executive presence, and gravitas required to present complex issues to the executive leadership team is essential
- The ability to synthesize complex financial issues and to communicate them in a clear and succinct manner
- Culturally, the successful candidate will be a humble, yet energetic leader, with a strong willingness to listen and the ability to collaborate with team members across all levels and functions
