What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift position at Raycap Inc?
Job Overview:
The Production Supervisor for 2nd Shift is responsible for overseeing the various production processes, work output, scheduling and employee personnel needs on the Manufacturing floor. This position is required to assess and enforce proper safety protocols and maintain appropriate communications with the Director of the Manufacturing facility as well as with the Human Resources Department. 2nd Shift Hours are 3pm - 12am, Monday through Friday.
Qualifications:
- (Preferred) minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing facility ( Metal Production)
- Supervisory/Management experience of at least 10 or more persons in a production environment
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and weld symbols / knowledge of welding processes
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite and Outlook software
- Excellent time management skills
- Good communication and leadership skill
- Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited instructions are available
- Ability to use basic measurement instruments to verify components meet requirements
- Willingness to adapt and work in a fast pace manufacturing environment
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee production employees, including Welders, Powder Coaters, CNC Mill and Plasma Operators and Material Handlers
- Communicate effectively with HR and Management team before, during, and after shift completion
- Assist in overseeing/assigning production duties
- Maintain safety protocols
- Maintain documents for internal and external use
- Inspect welds and other machine work as required
- Assist with training of new hires
- Maintain work area and ensure a clean, safe work environment
- Supervise team leads and effectively solve production issues as they arise
- Work with Quality, Environmental, H&S employees to ensure and maintain compliance with safety, operational, and regulatory standards of Quality
- Has the obligation to be aware of and comply with environmental, safety policies and regulations and always endures duties of high-quality standards
Physical Demands:
- Ability to Lift up to 50 lbs
- Stand and Bend frequently without issue
- Ability to work in non-climate controlled production environment
