What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Assistant position at Real Estate Management Specialists, Inc?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Looking for a Office Assistant/compliance to oversee the operations of a 40 unit section 8 property for elderly/disabled. The position reports to a site manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a positive attitude/environment
- Communicates with manager about the needs of the property
- working with the elderly/disabled populations to provide the best guidance with their housing needs in compliance with the government programs.
- Manage compliance for both programs.
- Qualify applicants according to the programs guidelines
- Ensure all safety, quality, and Compliance standards are met.
- Works with Compliance for Tax Credit files.
- Communicate effectively with all tenants, applicants, coworkers and supervisors in a way that promotes teamwork, good communication, and a good work environment.
- Works with Manager to hold tenants in compliance with their lease and the properties rules and regulations.
- Collects rents.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- knowledge of Section 8 or LIHTC programs preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- walk up and down stairs.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 20 per week
