Senior Accountant
Scottsdale, AZ
Hybrid: 3 days/week in office and as required
Our client is a global transportation and logistics company with a busy corporate shared services finance and accounting division.
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant leads the general ledger accounting and month-end close and consolidation processes in a fast-paced, global corporate environment. Key responsibilities include preparing journal entries, reconciling monthly banking activity, fixed asset accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and audit support.
Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:
- Execute the month-end close and consolidation process accurately and in compliance with reporting schedules.
- Calculate, document, and record journal entries related to all aspects of the business.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations of bank statements.
- Maintain a monthly reconciliation workbook for balance sheet accounts.
- Support internal and external audits to meet schedules.
- Provide accounting support to AP, AR, Tax, and Revenue functions.
- Support and mentor staff accountants.
- Drive the continuous improvement and utilization of existing financial systems and accounting processes.
- Perform complex accounting analysis for non-routine transactions and account reconciliations.
Qualifications of the Senior Accountant:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field from an accredited university.
- CPA strongly preferred.
- 3 years of full-cycle corporate accounting or public accounting audit experience with progressive responsibility.
- Proven experience thriving in a dynamic and changing environment.
- Experience using Microsoft suite of products and commercial ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and balance multiple priorities.
- Thorough understanding of US GAAP and the ability to apply accounting principles in a fast-paced environment.

Salary : $75,000 - $89,000
