Rise48 Equity is seeking an Accounting Assistant that will support the accounting department by performing a variety of administrative and financial tasks. This individual will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day accounting activities such as data entry, invoice processing, account reconciliations, and maintaining financial records. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and has a strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enter financial transactions, such as invoices, receipts, and payments, into accounting software.
- Maintain organized digital and physical financial records, ensuring accurate and timely filing.
- Assist with updating and reconciling ledgers and journals.
- Process accounts payable and receivable invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
- Track and follow up on outstanding payments, preparing and sending invoices as necessary.
- Prepare and issue payments to vendors and suppliers, ensuring proper approval and documentation.
- Assist with reconciling bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial records.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies by working with internal teams and external vendors.
- Support the accounting team during month-end and year-end financial close processes.
- Assist with preparing financial reports, balance sheets, income statements, and other documents as needed.
- Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and internal departments to resolve invoicing and payment issues.
- Assist with responding to inquiries from clients, vendors, and colleagues regarding financial matters.
- Provide administrative support to the accounting department, including filing, scanning, and organizing documents.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Accounting Assistant or in a similar role.
- Familiarity with basic accounting principles and financial practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience working in real estate – multifamily preferred.
- Familiarity with financial reporting.
