What are the responsibilities and job description for the Jr. Contract Specialist - Procurement position at Riverbay Corporation?
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the processing of bids solicitations, purchase orders (PO’s) & contracts
- Reviews and prepares Request for Proposals (RFP’s) prior to soliciting bids, conducts bid analysis and prepares RFP’s for award to lowest qualified bidder
- Reviews and prepares the following types of contracts; purchasing, services and short form of contracts and nondisclosure agreements (NDA’s)
- Conducts sourcing exercises for new suppliers and vets new suppliers
- Contributes to identifying process improvements and cost savings
- Assists with reconciliation of the monthly procurement credit card statements
- Provide good customer service & assist with issues resolution of supplier & internal stakeholder
- Performs tracking of PO’s and contract work activities to avoid disruption of materials & services
- Conducts redlining of contracts and work with Legal team on finalizing contracts
- Helps identify and makes recommendations to risks for the company
- Work with Risk Management Department to coordinate contractual insurance requirements (COI)
- Ensure timely acquisitions of products or service requirements from known sources of supply
- Performs related duties as required
Note: All procurement related activities need to conform with all regulatory requirements, including but not limited to, NY State Division of Community Renewal (DHCR), Federal and corporate regulations
Educational Requirements:
- Associates degree in Business Administration and/or 2 plus years of purchasing/contracts related experience
Work Experience and Minimum Requirements:
- 2 plus years of purchasing/contracts related experience
- Experience with conducting bid solicitations, processing purchase orders, reviewing, and drafting a broad range of commercial contacts From contract templates
- Experience with RFP’s, good fact finding & working knowledge with bid leveling
- Proficient with MS Office Suite
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to partner with employees at all levels of the organization
- Ability to work under limited supervision while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional team
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines
- Must be flexible and possess great organizational skills
Testing:
- Drug screening, as permitted by, and consistent with, applicable law.
Physical Requirements:
Persons performing service in this position classification may routinely exert up to 20 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. This type of work will involve regular walking or standing for extended periods of time. It may involve stooping or bending. Handling and working with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job.
