Job Summary :
The Senior Commercial Construction Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of commercial construction projects from inception to completion. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project teams. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in construction management, excellent leadership skills, and a proven ability to deliver complex projects successfully.
Key Responsibilities :
Project Planning and Management :
1. Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
2. Define project objectives and ensure alignment with client expectations.
3. Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
4. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
Budgeting and Cost Control :
1. Prepare, review, and manage project budgets and financial forecasts.
2. Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
3. Negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Team Leadership :
1. Lead and mentor project teams, including construction managers, engineers, and site supervisors.
2. Foster collaboration and communication among all project stakeholders.
3. Resolve conflicts and provide clear direction to ensure team alignment.
Quality and Safety Assurance :
1. Ensure adherence to quality standards throughout the construction process.
2. Oversee safety protocols and promote a culture of safety on-site.
3. Conduct regular site inspections and address any non-compliance issues.
Client and Stakeholder Relations :
1. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress.
2. Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, fostering trust and satisfaction.
3. Address client concerns promptly and effectively.
Documentation and Reporting :
1. Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and reports.
2. Prepare and present progress reports to clients and senior management.
3. Ensure proper project closeout, including final inspections and turnover of completed work.
Qualifications :
Education and Experience :
1. Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
2. Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in commercial construction project management.
3. Proven track record of managing large-scale commercial construction projects.
Skills and Competencies :
1. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building systems.
2. Excellent budgeting, scheduling, and contract management skills.
3. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and other relevant tools.
