We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Purchasing Agent in the Hi Tech Engineering industry, based in Orlando, Florida. You will be playing a critical role in our team by managing purchasing operations, liaising with vendors, and ensuring optimal inventory levels.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with manufacturing managers to understand their purchasing needs, focusing on items such as screws and nuts.
- Negotiate with vendors to obtain the best possible prices and payment terms (net 30 or 60).
- Manage the procurement process by requesting quotes and placing purchase orders (POs).
- Track delivery status of POs and take necessary actions for any delays or discrepancies.
- Maintain regular communication with vendors, primarily through phone calls and emails.
- Utilize accounting software systems such as NetSuite or Nav for processing purchase orders.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of buying processes and vendor quotes.
- Use Office Suites, particularly Outlook and Excel, to organize and present purchasing data.
- Leverage your computer literacy skills to streamline and automate purchasing processes.
- Gain experience in accounting functions and budget processes through hands-on involvement.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a Purchasing Agent role or similar
- Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
- Strong understanding of Accounting Functions
- Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
- Proven knowledge of Buying Processes
- Proficiency in using NetSuite
- Experience in handling Purchase Orders
- Ability to Configure Price Quote (CPQ)
- Experience in obtaining Vendor Quotes
- Demonstrated ability to prepare Quotes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field is preferred
