POSITION SUMMARY

TheEHS Coordinator is responsible for assisting the EHS Manager in the compliance of OSHA and environmental regulations. This position is required to educate and implement all safety procedures and policies. The EHS Coordinator will facilitate and support a continuous improvement and safety conscious culture.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All employees are required to support Rosenbauer’s Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.

1. Leads teams to establish a World Class Environmental, Health & Safety Program and Culture.

2. Tracks and leads continuous improvement Risk Assessment reductions with Cross Functional Work Teams.

3. Educates employees on EHS topics, implements processes, procedures, and regulations.

4. Completes and/or work with Contractors to monitor and/or test Industrial Hygiene and Safety exposure.

5. Assists Human Resources when requested including but not limited to work comp claims.

6. Leads the Safety Committee monthly training including ongoing program improvements.

7. Investigates Near Hits, First Aid, OSHA Recordables including Loss Time Injuries and Property Damage.

8. Files EHS documentation and shares EHS Communications site wide.

9. Facilitates New Employee Safety Orientation, AWAIR, and regular ongoing Safety Training.

10. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the company.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’S): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma required.
  • Associate degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety preferred.
  • 3 years working in a manufacturing setting preferred.
  • General knowledge of Federal and Minnesota State EHS regulations and standards required.
  • 5 years of experience in an EHS role or Safety Committee preferred.
  • OSHA Certification (30 hours) preferred.

Skills:

Language:

  • Able to read, reason, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, and legal documents applicable to the position.
  • Able to respond to common inquiries from regulatory agencies, or members of our business community in a professional manner.
  • Able to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Able to communicate with tact and diplomacy through oral and written communications.

Math:

  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages.

Computer:

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Abilities:

  • Able to achieve company goals by developing and adhering to standards and process management through a hands-on-approach as a team player.
  • High level of organization, time-management skills, and self-discipline.
  • Highly motivated and analytical individuals with acute attention to detail.
  • Able to recognize the importance and adhere to all safety policies to promote a safe working environment.
  • Able to work well with minimal supervisor and in a team environment.
  • Able to handle sensitive or confidential information with discretion.
  • Able to facilitate training to multiple people/groups.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Driving- license: Driving company vehicle at times may be required for travel between sites, to tradeshows, or other Rosenbauer sponsored events.
  • Driving- Own Vehicle: Travel to other Rosenbauer America sites, tradeshows, or other Rosenbauer sponsored events.
  • Hours of work- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends occasionally as needed to support department needs.
  • Travel- Local: Travel to other Rosenbauer America sites, tradeshows, or other Rosenbauer sponsored events.
  • Travel- Overnight: Travel to other Rosenbauer America sites, tradeshows, or other Rosenbauer sponsored events.
  • Travel- Prolonged Periods: Travel to other Rosenbauer America sites, tradeshows, or other Rosenbauer sponsored events.
  • Qualifications- Other: Able to obtain a passport, if needed.
