Family Immigration Law Paralegal
Position Overview:
Seeking a Bilingual (English and Spanish) full-time Immigration Paralegal for an immigration law practice in Jacksonville, Florida. (35 - 40 hours per week)
Language Proficiency:
- The candidate must be fluent in both English and Spanish.
- PLEASE NOTE: Only some Spanish or some English is not acceptable for this position - only candidates that are completely fluent in both languages will be considered.
Experience:
- At least one year minimum of immigration law firm experience required.
- A passion for working with immigrants is preferred.
- Paralegal experience is required.
- Proficiency in Docketwise or similar legal software for case management
- Strong research skills and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following strongly encouraged:
- Paralegal Studies
- Legal Studies
- Public Administration
- Political Science
- Criminology
- Criminal Justice
- Psychology
- International Relations
- History
- English
- Communications
Responsibilities:
- Assist the attorney by completing tasks assigned directly by the attorney.
- Gather relevant case information and documents.
- Conduct legal research on immigration laws and regulations
- Assist attorney in preparing immigration cases
- Draft legal documents and correspondence
- Maintain case files and ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date
- Communicate effectively with clients.
- Prepare and file immigration forms with government agencies.
- Perform data entry tasks related to immigration cases
- Draft legal pleadings.
