CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Pre-Employment: Applicants must pass a pre-employment process, which includes fingerprinting, credit check, and/or medical exam, prior to appointment.
- Bilingual Positions: Applicants fluent in American Sign Language, Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, and/or Vietnamese are strongly encouraged to apply. Additional compensation is associated with positions requiring the use of bilingual skills. Applicants must pass written and oral language competency tests in order to be considered for bilingual vacancies.
- Promotion: Incumbents in the class of Employment Services Specialist Trainee are eligible for promotion to Employment Services Specialist ($53,393.60 - $73,507.20 annually) upon completing the trainee period and receipt of a satisfactory Work Performance Evaluation. Incumbents must be promoted within twelve (12) months of hire or be terminated.

EXPERIENCE | One (1) year of full-time work experience interpreting, applying, and explaining (organizational or government) policies, regulations, or procedures to the public. NOTE: Retail sales and fast food service work experience is not considered qualifying work experience. |
EDUCATION | Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units completed college coursework in one of the following fields: behavioral/social science, business/public administration, English, math, humanities, administration of justice, or a closely related field. NOTE: A list of completed college coursework or legible transcripts MUST be submitted with the application if the applicant does not possess a completed Associate's degree or higher in one the qualifying fields listed above. Qualifying degrees or coursework must be completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. Degrees or coursework completed outside the U.S. must be accompanied with an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service showing equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. |
