Human Resources Generalist - Stony Brook CPMP Human Resources
Location: St. James, NY
Schedule: Full time
Days/Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:30 AM - 5 PM
Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 (pay will be determined based on experience, preferred qualifications, and education)

Responsibilities
SUMMARY:
Under the general guidance of the Human Resources Operations Supervisor, the HR Generalist acts independently within established guidelines to ensure smooth and efficient daily Human Resources (HR) operation activities for StaffCo/CPMP.
The HR Generalist will provide HR services for exempt and non-exempt positions to include answering employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. The HR Generalist will provide the delivery of comprehensive and efficient human resources programs, initiatives and solutions to human resource-related matters; collaborating with key functional areas, including, but not limited to Payroll, Accounting, Research Foundation (RF), Stony Brook Employee Health Services, Clinic Administrators and Managers. Other duties will include data entry, HR records management, employee relations, training, and FLSA.
Job Duties & Essential Functions:
Culture Ambassador
- Reinforce a strong collaborative culture with HR, senior leaders, peers and other functions with the company. Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, commitment, focus and excellence.
- Assist in the oversight and ongoing collaboration and development of the employee orientation and onboarding program, to include conducting new hire orientations and completing new employee onboarding tasks ensuring a positive and seamless experience.
- Partner with supervisors in managing employee performance, promotions, pay equity, interrupting policy, and in the implementation of new initiatives and processes.
- Recommend policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of HR department and organization as a whole, and to improve the employee experience.
Training & Development
- Assist with Learning Management System (LMS) and manage course content as needed.
- Partner with other HR Generalists with maintaining annual training requirements for Harassment Prevention, HIPAA, etc.
- Assist with planning, organizing a range of training activities for the organization (e.g. create teaching materials, PowerPoint presentations and other learning literature).
- Assist in identifying and assessing training needs within the practices to include conducting training surveys and needs assessments.
- Routinely evaluate training effectiveness.
Data Management
- Timely input of new hires for payroll. Conduct audits to ensure entry is accurate.
- Periodically audit data in ADP to ensure data integrity.
- Generate, analyze and maintain a variety of monthly/quarterly reports, providing and tracking useful metrics used to identify trends.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory agencies and legal compliance with applicable governmental laws and regulations for Staffco/CPMP.
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends, best practices, regulatory changes and employment law.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field. In lieu of degree, 2 additional years of full time Human Resources experience.
- Strong knowledge of HR principles and related laws and regulations required.
- Five (5) years full time progressively responsible experience in Human Resources.
- Previous HR generalist knowledge and skills, with a broad understanding of all the technical and functional components of HR including: compensation, onboarding, talent management, recruiting, benefits, employee relations as well as training and development. To include expertise in MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working as a HR Generalist
- Experience within the healthcare environment preferred.
- HR experience preferably within the Healthcare industry
- SHRM/PHR certification is desirable.
- Experience working with ADP and Health Stream
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with patients, staff and medical providers. The employee must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. This position is largely sedentary and requires the employee to remain stationary for a majority of the day. Any additional physical demands will be outlined and provided by management.
