Training Coordinator
Position Overview: This full-time, salaried position is with the SC Respite Coalition, a statewide non-profit organization, and requires dedication to family caregiver respite, thoroughness, attention to detail and good listening skills. Performs a range of functions including creating, administering, and delivering training programs for various audiences. Training can be organized and delivered through a variety of methods including in-person, online courses, virtual, presentations, webinars, one-on-one meetings, manuals, and more. This position will develop and organize training opportunities that enhance the learner’s respite knowledge, along with meeting the respite support needs in South Carolina. This position will develop a registry of respite providers to foster increased access for family caregivers and support the development of new programs through collaboration with staff, statewide partners, and volunteers. Located on-site in Columbia SC. May require in-state travel.
Other key duties include promotion, communication, data collection, reporting, and being able to work and make competent decisions independently. The Training and Volunteer Coordinator will work under the direction of Executive Director and in collaboration with the Assistant Director to ensure the needs of the office are met in a timely manner.
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate training related activities across funding initiatives.
- Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with various target audiences, or consultations with managers or instructors.
- Design and create online learning modules, tool-kits and other training materials.
- Review training materials from a variety of sources and choose appropriate materials.
- Deliver training to various target audiences using a variety of instructional techniques.
- Assist in the evaluation of training programs.
- Perform administrative tasks such as monitoring costs, scheduling classes, setting up systems and equipment, and coordinating enrollment.
- Perform other duties, as required.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Develop Respite Provider Registry
- Develop Online Modules , Workshops, Webinars, Presentations
- o Topics for Respite Providerso Topics for Family Caregivers
- Develop and provide requested specialty training for groups, organizations, and agencies.
- Develop an on-line Respite Provider Registry of providers completing the online respite curriculum.
- Training and Respite Provider Registry Management and Support
o On-going technical assistance and support for users on online learning management system and respite registry platformso Marketing of training and registry, management of registration and usageo Provide technical assistance and training, as appropriate.o Track volunteer hours and conduct evaluation of volunteer initiatives.Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Provide technical support to learners, caregivers and staff.
- Assist in SCRC volunteer-based initiatives:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required (Social Work, Education, Health or related field), Masters’ degree preferred
- Ability to work independently, make decisions independently, and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organization and time-management skills and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of and ability to use Learning Management Systems
- Commitment to good customer service
- Commitment to continuous improvement of both programs and processes
- Demonstrate effective team behavior and effective interpersonal relationships
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, social media
- Knowledge of how to use a web content management system to make minor modifications to the website.
- Demonstrated ability to develop training materials for adult learners
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA protocols
- Non-profit organization experience is preferred
- Knowledge of respite and other caregiver services
- Experience as parent and/or family caregiver of child or adult with disabilities
- Knowledge of aging and disability service delivery system, e.g., SC Department on Aging, SC Department of Disabilities and Special Needs System desirable
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual Salary: $45,000 - $48,000
- 10 days of Paid Time-Off (PTO) each year, 10 paid holidays, optional 403(b) retirement plan and health benefits, and free parking
