Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to clients with substance use disorders.
- Conduct ASAM Assessments in line with best practices.
- Utilize evidence-based approaches, including motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and trauma-informed care.
- Collaborate with clinicians, case managers, medical providers, and other support staff to ensure comprehensive client care.
- Maintain accurate documentation to meet compliance and funding requirements.
- Support clients in developing coping strategies, relapse management plans, and life skills for sustained recovery.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
- Alaska certification/licensure (or ability to obtain) as a Chemical Dependency Counselor (CDC-I).
- Experience providing individual and group counseling for substance use disorders.
- Strong knowledge of ASAM criteria, addiction treatment, and trauma-informed care.
Preferred:
- Experience working in a residential or outpatient treatment setting.
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations for behavioral health programs.
