The Wellness Coordinator is responsible for supporting and guiding the employee experience and culture through strategic wellness initiatives to support overall health and wellness within the organization with respect to all facets of wellness; financial, physical, social, mental, etc.). This role focuses on planning and implementing wellness strategies, communication, activities, and education which will serve to help employees be well and retain top talent. The Wellness Coordinator will pursue continuous improvement within the organization by working with organizational leaders and employees to diagnose organizational needs and match intervention methodologies with needs. This position will align activities with organizational goals to effectively communicate and support total wellness and show why SGMC is an employer of choice.
- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- 3-5 years-experience in wellness related work, employee engagement, or related area preferred; minimum of 2 years-experience required
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher required; Master’s Degree in Health and Wellness or related filed preferred
- Industry related certifications preferred
- Demonstrated experience in successfully leading in the design and implementation of wellness activities, change management and engagement activities, and communications highly desired
- Competent diagnosing individual and organizational wellness gaps and needs, matching intervention methodology with needs, and determining the appropriate engagement and educational activities to support those needs
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills; works well independently and on collaborative teams
- Creative thinker and proactive problem solver
- Research and keep abreast of new trends in health and wellness and how those relate to the world of work
- Plans events, educational sessions, activities, communicates needs, and collaborates with necessary departments
- Possess strong analytical skills, good listening skills with the ability to effectively coach and mentor others; must be able to lead by influence
