- In this position, you’ll be providing a critical service by safely transporting patients to and from their medical appointments, helping those who may not have other means of access
- You’ll be instrumental in fostering independence, supporting patients on their healthcare journey, and building lasting relationships with those you serve
- As a Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver, you play a vital role in connecting patients to crucial medical services, including doctor’s visits, dialysis, rehabilitation, and outpatient treatments
- Safely operating a company vehicle and adhering to traffic and safety regulations at all times
- Assisting passengers in and out of the vehicle, ensuring their comfort and safety, particularly those with limited mobility or special medical needs
- Maintaining a positive, professional demeanor to provide a welcoming and reassuring experience for each passenger
- Monitoring passengers' well-being during transit and communicating with healthcare providers or family members if necessary
- Adhering to scheduled routes and ensuring punctual pick-ups and drop-offs, respecting passengers’ time and the importance of their appointments
- Conducting routine checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in excellent working condition, reporting any maintenance needs promptly
- Keeping accurate records of trips, including mileage, passenger details, and any incidents or delays
- Compassionate Passenger Assistance: Safely and attentively assist passengers in entering and exiting the vehicle, ensuring their comfort throughout the entire journey
- This includes helping passengers with mobility challenges, such as those using wheelchairs, walkers, or other assistive devices, while offering courteous support at every step
- Timely and Safe Transportation: Prioritize the safe, reliable, and punctual transportation of passengers to and from medical facilities
- Ensure that all scheduled appointments are met on time, accounting for potential delays while maintaining a smooth and stress-free ride for passengers
- Vehicle Maintenance and Cleanliness: Regularly inspect, maintain, and clean the vehicle to meet the highest standards of safety and hygiene
- This includes checking tire pressure, fluid levels, and brakes, as well as ensuring the interior is tidy and welcoming for passengers
- A well-maintained vehicle reflects the company’s commitment to excellence and creates a pleasant environment for passengers
- Passenger and Equipment Safety: Expertly secure passengers, including those using wheelchairs or other mobility aids, inside the vehicle, following all safety protocols
- This includes ensuring all seat belts, restraints, and securing systems are properly used and adjusted to provide maximum comfort and security during transit
- Sound Judgment and Decision-Making: Display excellent judgment in a variety of situations, particularly when it comes to ensuring the safety and well-being of passengers
- Respond calmly and effectively to any unexpected situations, such as medical emergencies, traffic delays, or vehicle issues, and always prioritize passenger safety and care
- Empathetic Communication: Engage with passengers using clear, respectful, and compassionate communication
- Take the time to understand their unique needs and concerns, whether it’s offering reassurance or accommodating special requests, to provide a positive, personalized experience during each trip

- Qualifications:
Proficiency with Medical Equipment: Ability to handle and secure medical devices and mobility aids, such as wheelchairs, and walkers, with precision and care. Must be knowledgeable in operating specialized equipment to ensure passenger safety and comfort throughout their journey.
- Applicant must have a minimum age of 25
- Clean Driving Record (MVP) in past 7 years
- Clean Criminal Background
- 1 years progressive work experience in the healthcare transportation
- 1 years of customer service
- Experience with operating wheelchair securing devices
- Education, Experience, Licensure, or Certification Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Current and valid state issued driver's license in good standing
- CPR/BLS Certified
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $14.44 - $15.97 per hour
