About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Manager to oversee the payroll and benefits functions within our organization. This role is responsible for ensuring that payroll is processed accurately and on time, while also ensuring compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations. In addition to payroll, this role will manage the administration of employee benefits, conduct audits, and support open enrollment processes. This position is 100% onsite at our office in Los Angeles
This position requires expertise in Paycom payroll software, along with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain compliance with applicable laws. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

You are a team player with excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills, and you possess a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing & Compliance:
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant payroll transactions (including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and deductions).
- Maintain and update payroll records for new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including wage and hour laws.
- Process garnishments, benefits contributions, tax filings, and other adjustments.
Benefits Administration:
- Oversee employee benefit programs, including enrollments, changes, and annual open enrollment.
- Collaborate with benefits brokers to ensure programs are administered accurately and effectively.
- Review and reconcile employee benefit invoices for accuracy.
- Advise employees on benefits offerings and eligibility, providing clear and concise information.
Communication & Employee Support:
- Act as a key resource for employees, providing guidance on payroll-related inquiries and benefits options.
- Ensure clear communication regarding payroll schedules, benefits enrollment periods, and changes to policies.
Continuous Improvement & Compliance:
- Stay updated on changes to payroll and benefits regulations, making recommendations for policy adjustments to maintain compliance.
- Proactively address potential issues, inconsistencies, or compliance risks in payroll and benefits administration.
Experience & Skills:
Extensive Payroll Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of payroll functions, tax compliance, and payroll-related internal controls.
Benefits Administration:
- Experience in managing employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans.
- Solid understanding of benefits laws and regulations.
Technical Proficiency:
- Advanced skills in Paycom and Microsoft Excel for payroll data analysis, reporting, and auditing.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and compliance requirements.
- Proven track record of maintaining payroll and benefits compliance in a dynamic environment.
Attention to Detail & Multi-Tasking:
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining accuracy.
