What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Associate position at Sky Ute Casino Resort?
JOB SUMMARY:
We are looking for a customer-oriented candidate to join our team! The Front Desk Associate is responsible for providing quality guest services that include reservations, registration and check-out, PBX operations, mail, and message service for hotel guests. Must be accurate with daily accounting procedures. Responds to telephone and in person inquiries regarding reservations, hotel information and guest concerns. Assistance with guests may include but not limited to luggage assistance, directions/maps, driving guests to/from the airport.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Responsible for making reservations for hotel guests and represents the Casino and Hotel to the guest throughout all stages of the guests stay.
2. Determines a guest reservation status and identifies how long the guest will stay.
3. Assists guests by completing registration cards, assigning rooms and accommodates special requests whenever possible.
4. Verifies the guest method of payment and follows established procedures.
5. Places guest and room information in the appropriate front desk racks and communicates with appropriate personnel.
6. Works closely with housekeeping and maintenance staff.
7. Must be sales minded. Presents options and alternatives to guests and offers assistance in making choices.
8. Maintains guest room key storage.
9. Knowledgeable of location, types, and layout of available rooms as well as the activities and services of the property.
10. Responds to communications from guest, travel agents and referral networks concerning reservations arriving by mail, telephone, or fax.
11. Creates and maintains reservation records.
12. Prepares letters of confirmation and promptly process any cancellations and modifications.
13. Prepares the list of expected arrivals and process advance reservation deposits.
14. Knowledgeable of all Hotel package plans, regarding status, rates, and benefits.
15. Receives and distributes messages for guests, provide information on guest services and answer inquires about special events.
16. Processes wake-up calls.
17. Speaks clearly, distinctly and in a friendly, courteous tone.
18. Utilizes listening skills to put callers at ease and obtain accurate complete information.
19. Maintains knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
20. Maintains knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
21. Maintains knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of telecommunications systems.
22. Operates circuit boards, electronic equipment and computer hardware and software, including applications.
23. Be well groomed and in uniform with name tag at all times.
24. Drives guests to airport or other destination as needed.
25. Helps cover gift shop duties when needed.
26. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
· Must be at least 18 years old.
· Previous experience in hotel front desk preferred.
· Must have 3 months previous customer service experience.
· Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable with the Southern Ute Indian Tribe.
· Must possess excellent communication skills.
· Must be able to speak clearly and distinctly.
· Must have knowledge of math concepts including adding and subtracting.
· Must be available to work all shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and blackout dates.
· Must have excellent attendance.
· Must be able to remain sensitive to cultural diversity in the workplace.
· Must be able to stand and walk for at least 5 hours.
· Must have the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.
· Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and balance priorities successfully.
· Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
· Must be able to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and sit throughout shift.
· Must have good vision, hearing, manual dexterity, and flexibility.
· Must be able to work in a noisy and crowded environment.
· Must be able to constantly work under close surveillance cameras.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
· Candidate selected for employment will be subject to pre-employment drug test, employment reference and background check.
· Must obtain and maintain a Sky Ute Casino Resort Staff license.
· Must comply fully with all Sky Ute Casino’s Policies & Procedures, Gaming Code Regulations and any applicable policies & regulations set forth by the Casino Resort.

Pay: From $16.50 per hour
