Assistant Principal/Director of Special Education

SVUUSD is seeking a dynamic educational leader to support teaching and learning at Castleton Elementary School. This is a full-time administrative position supporting the operations of the school and the supervision and monitoring of Special Education for students in PreK through grade 6. The successful candidate will have a Master's Degree in education with successful teaching experience and hold or be eligible for licensure as a Special Education Administrator and Principal. The selected candidate shall have knowledge of State and Federal regulations governing the provision of Special Education and related programming. The candidate must understand child development across the gradespans, progress monitoring, and rates of improvement. The preferred candidate will have experience working with students who may benefit from alternative approaches to learning, demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills and be committed to continuous improvement of all students.
