Communications Leader - Jewish Focused Non-profit

Our client is seeking a talented Communications leader to develop and implement the communications strategy for the Jewish-focused entities of the organization. This individual will be a contributor, creating content that resonates with the Jewish Community, Orthodox Jewish Community, and other audiences. They will be an integral part of the organization’s Communications Team and report to the VP of Communications for the parent organization. This role involves collaborating with leadership and team members to develop a communications strategy aligned with the organization’s mission.

The ideal candidate will have experience in creating, developing, and implementing communications strategies for a non-profit organization focused on the Jewish Community. They should be a passionate storyteller with a track record of crafting clear, structured, and compelling content that communicates the importance of the organization’s mission within the Jewish Community. This individual should have experience in various communications mediums, including digital and print, and have expertise in writing content related to Jewish Living, with first-hand knowledge and understanding of Orthodox Jewish customs and traditions.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Oversee and evaluate the current communications plan, and develop and implement strategies for digital communications, crisis communications, social media, media relations, public relations, and overall external communications for Jewish Life Communications.
  • Collaborate with the leadership and communications team to develop and implement the strategy for Jewish community focused communications.
  • Create compelling content for digital communications, social media campaigns, white papers, articles, program publications, e-newsletters, blogs, case studies, press releases, presentations, and more.
  • Focus on developing strategies and content creation.
  • Assist the leadership team and staff in crafting talking points, creating presentation materials, and developing media opportunities.
  • Support additional projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Journalism, English, or Communications; a graduate degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of communications experience, with at least 3 years in storytelling/content creation, and at least 2 years of recent experience in an organization focused on the Jewish Community.
  • Experience, knowledge, and understanding of the Orthodox Jewish community, culture, and practices.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Qualified candidates must provide writing samples or access to a portfolio of work.

Approximate salary range is $70,000 - $100,000 but may stretch depending on experience.
