What You Will Do

As a Communications Administrative Coordinator, you will provide a wide range of administrative, staff, and project management support to the SCDOR Communications & Strategic Solutions division to ensure that team and agency goals, priorities, and requirements are met.

Primary Job Duties Include

  • Monitoring the division email account, responding to emails, assigning requests, and following up on emails as needed.
  • Scheduling meetings, creating meeting agendas, taking and distributing meeting minutes, and facilitating meetings as needed.
  • Scheduling and assisting in the planning of divisional team building activities and special events.
  • Holding the division purchasing card, processing purchase requests, and maintaining up-to-date purchase order records.
  • Supporting the needs of the Deputy Director, Administrators, and Managers of the division.
  • Serving as the main administrator for the division's SharePoint site and collaborative workspace.
  • Maintaining team document libraries and ensuring that they are well-organized and searchable.
  • Maintaining and providing training on division operating policies and procedures.
  • Identifying and implementing process and system improvements.
  • Reviewing and approving employee posts on the agency intranet and adding events and posts to the intranet.
  • Reviewing and editing articles, emails, guides, presentations, and other content.
  • Serving as the division liaison between the division and Human Resources.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

  • A high school diploma and relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services. OR
  • A bachelor's degree.

Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning.

Additional Requirements

  • May occasionally require non-regular working hours for emergencies or special projects.
  • May occasionally require travel to other SCDOR offices.

Preferred Qualifications

These qualifications are not required but are considered when setting a starting salary.

  • Experience with SharePoint.
  • Experience with project management tools and programs.
  • Experience in editing and writing.
  • Knowledge of communication principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of Plain Language, AP Style, and Smart Brevity.

  • Hours: Flexible hours may be available from 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week).
  • Telework schedule: This position may be eligible to work remotely up to two days per week.
