Job Title: HR Generalist
Reports To: HR Director

Classification: Full-time
Job Summary: The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff and enforcing company policies and practices.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the organization.
- May assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist the Recruiter with interviews and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required. To include, but not limited to, efforts focused on Hispanic/Latino recruitment, identifying likely sources of Hispanic/Latino candidates, cultivating relationships with those sources, and developing programs designed to promote SCP careers to a Hispanic/Latino audience.
- Assist the HR Coordinator with onboarding activities.
- Conducts new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the HR Director.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation. Compile and maintain electronic employee records.
- Process employee status changes and separations.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Support internal and external inquiries and requests related to the HR including but not limited to:
- Frequently asked questions from employees to standard policies, benefits, etc.; referring complex questions to HR Director.
- Responding to all requests for verification of employment.
- Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events and holiday parties.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field required.
- One to three years of human resource experience.
- SHRM-CP or HR certification preferred.
- Fluent proficiency in both speaking and writing in Spanish preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Administrative 70%
- Travel 20%
- Walking, Bending, Lifting, and Twisting 10%
