Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resources (HR)/Operations Manager to join our team of 14 staff members, 11 of which are mental health clinicians, who work in a hybrid (telehealth and in-person) format out of two locations (60174/St. Charles IL and 60622/Chicago IL). The director/employer of this clinic is a clinical and forensic psychologist. This is an in-person full- or part-time position (Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm). The perspective candidate is expected to follow formal and modest dress code and display bolder than usual interpersonal boundaries due to the nature of forensic work. Our HR/Operations Manager would be based in one location. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in developing and implementing HR strategies that align with our business objectives. This position requires strong communication skills, data analysis abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of HR functions, including recruiting, employee relations, compliance with labor laws, payroll (through Gusto software), PTO, sick leave, leave of absence, insurance (for staff and company), hires, separations, onboardings, job descriptions, discipline, establishment of pay ranges based on market data, updating annual performance reviews forms, annual compensation reviews (based on performance philosophy), investigations, meeting deadlines for licenses/certifications/background checks, monitoring timesheets, any other duties as assigned.
The HR/Operations Manager will oversee various HR initiatives and ensure a positive work environment that fosters employee engagement and development.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Manage the recruitment process, including sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and onboarding new employees.
- Foster positive employee relations by addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and promoting a supportive workplace culture.
- Analyze HR data to identify trends and make informed decisions regarding workforce planning and development.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, including FMLA and other relevant legislation.
- Collaborate with management to develop budgeting strategies for HR initiatives.
- Utilize HR software systems such as Gusto, really, etc. for efficient management of employee records and reporting.
- Provide guidance on performance management processes and facilitate training programs for staff development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- At least five years of human resources experience required.
- Proven experience in an HR managerial role with a strong understanding of HR processes and best practices.
- Certifications such as SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, or other professional certifications, are highly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Strong data analysis skills to interpret HR metrics and drive strategic decisions.
- Familiarity with budgeting processes within an HR context.
- Experience with employee relations issues and conflict resolution strategies.
- Proficiency in recruiting techniques and HR sourcing methods.
- Knowledge of HR software systems.
